Effective Saturday, July 11th, upon the election of a new Chair, I am resigning as Chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party to become a candidate for the 1st Congressional district.
It's been an honor to work with you and to serve the Michigan Democratic Party. Thank you.
Over the last two years, we worked together to substantially strengthen the MDP: 50% increase in MDP membership; 400% increase in emails; 240% jump in social media following; 226% increase in individual donors; and a 45% increase in absentee voting. We set and achieved ambitious goals. Yet, we know more must be done to win. We must continue to build our party by reforming our structure, empowering our local organizations, and delivering bold ideas to voters that demonstrate Democrats will create a state where they can stay and succeed.
Because of our work together, the MDP is well-positioned to build on our many accomplishments to win in 2016, and beyond. I am proud of our achievements and look forward to working with the new leadership to continue our efforts to grow and strengthen the Michigan Democratic Party.
Let's go to work, let's go win.
