I've volunteered to help Women Gain access to Education by spreading awareness about Live Your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women powered by Soroptimist International of the Americas. It can be challenging to get award applications into the hands of eligible Women. Each year, more than $1.6 million in Education Grants are disbursed through the Live Your Dream Awards (formerly known as the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards) Program to more than 1,000 Women, many of whom have overcome enormous obstacles including Poverty, Domestic Violence, the death of a Spouse and/or substance abuse. The Awards are cash Grants for head-of-household Women who are the Primary Financial Supporters of their Families and who are enrolled in Education or Training Programs. These cash Awards are to offset any costs associated with the recipient’s efforts to attain higher Education, including tuition, books, supplies, child care or transportation costs.
